The Old Exchange Building is one of the most significant historic buildings in Charleston and the United States. George Washing ton was there, the Declaration was read to the citizens from its balcony… and on and on. But underneath, literally, there is a darker side — the Provost Dungeon, which housed some nasty prisoners… including some pretty famous pirates.
