Beauty can be found in all sorts of unexpected places in Charleston. Check out the reflection of one of the historic homes on Tradd Street in the in window behind this wonderful flower box.
More Second Sunday
Yesterday was the second Sunday of the month, and that means it’s “Second Sunday” in Charleston, a wonderful monthly tradition. King Street, between Calhoun and Queen Streets (home to some of the best shopping in the United States) is shut to motorized traffic and the street turns into a wonderful pedestrian mall — full of people, dogs, musicians, dancers, outdoor dining, shopping and more.

Just Charleston
Beautiful doors, earthquake bolts and wonderful flower boxes can be found all around Charleston. These are on Anson Street.
Touring Charleston
A classic scene of visitors taking a carriage tour on Church and Chalmers Streets . Have you ever been on one?
Happy Flowers
These window boxes on Tradd Street made me smile. Very spring-like!
Charleston At Night
The sheen from a light rain added another layer of magic to the Charleston night on Tradd Street.
Charleston Cobblestones
Charleston’s history as a vibrant port city is a direct link to the cobblestone streets that still remain today. The stones that pave the streets were originally used as ballast for the empty trading sailing ships that would call on Charleston. As they loaded their goods, the weight of the stones was no longer needed. The discarded stones would then be used to pave the streets. That’s why all the cobblestone streets in Charleston are clustered by where the piers were. This beautiful example is Chalmers Street.
Another Week Ends
What better way to celebrate the end of another work week than by sharing a beautiful Charleston sunset, as seen along the Ashley River from the Low Battery?
