Street/Park Scenes

Charleston takes on a magical quality as the sun starts its downward arc. Here the south side of Broad Street, between Church and Meeting Streets, glows in the late afternoon light.
One of the shortest streets in Charleston, complete with a 90 degree turn, Zig Zag Alley is tucked in near the High Battery. It's a beautiful little street, with one of the most often stolen street signs.
Church Street is one of the best streets to stroll along in Charleston. Not only are the houses beautiful, below Water Street it is paved with beautiful brick.
Price's Alley is one of the very cool Charleston alleys. On the other side of the brick wall is the spectacular Nathaniel Russell House, which is open to the public.
The Pineapple Fountain, in Waterfront Park, is one of the most beloved sites in Charleston. Symbolizing "welcome," it is not only pretty cool looking, it can cool off your feet after a long day of exploring Charleston.
Charleston is full of beautiful fountains. The Pineapple Fountain in Waterfront Park is a welcoming (which the pineapple symbolizes) favorite. On hot summer days, it's a great spot in which to cool your feet.
The sun setting through the Live Oak trees at White Point Garden. The cannons there are favorite items for kids of all ages to climb on.
The oysters of the Lowcountry are one of the great treats to eat in the Charleston area. And one of the more fun ways to do it is at an oyster roast. This one was held at Lowndes Grove -- a spectacular site on the Ashley River.

Marion Square is awash with lights during the holiday season. With a backdrop of buildings like the Citadel Square Baptist Church, it is even more spectacular.
